John Leah is a seasoned technical leader whose career spans global touring productions, large-scale energy-efficiency programmes, government-level environmental advocacy, digital systems architecture and award-winning craftsmanship.

His professional journey reflects a rare blend of technical mastery, operational leadership, creative problem-solving and a long-standing commitment to sustainability — the same blend that shapes every project Mixture delivers today.

MCL Manchester (Avesco Group PLC)

2000–2004

IT Manager and the brand's first-ever Online Marketing Manager. Technical liaison for Screenco and Creative Technology on major events including the 2002 Commonwealth Games and UK SkillCity (attended by HRH Prince Charles).

Operations Director, Warm Front Ltd

2005–2010s

Led national energy-efficiency delivery and built the first carbon-saving and Google Earth property-mapping system used by ALMOs and Housing Associations. Invited to the House of Commons, Whitehall and the House of Lords.

UKTI Delegation to China

2008

Represented the North West's green-technology expertise as part of a UK Trade & Investment delegation led by Clive Drinkwater.

Co-Founder & Technical Director, Green Deal Solutions Ltd

2012–2015

Extended the carbon-calculation platform to support Green Deal assessments — integrating funding logic, carbon savings and property-level data.

Director, Mixture Ltd

2014–Present

Technical consultancy, custom systems, brand development and digital strategy for ambitious UK businesses.

Technical Director, Björk Digital Worldwide

2016–2020

Rebuilt and led the technical deployment of the world's first and largest touring VR exhibition across Europe, the Americas and Russia — including a six-week residency with Disney in Los Angeles, CCCB Barcelona, Harpa Reykjavík, CENART Mexico City, CCBB Brasília/Rio/São Paulo, Moscow Biennale, Day for Night (Houston) and Poznań. Trained local crews in every country, often through interpreters.

Owner, Valley Upholstery

2020–Present

Built an award-winning bespoke upholstery business — consistently Top 3 in Tameside, accepted into the Guild of Master Craftsmen, and grown four-fold on the back of a cloud-based management system he designed and built himself.
